As long as we think all Obama-ties to Democrats in national races are corrupt or worse, just consider a more competitive national electoral path in 2014, the GOP controls Washington, a big chunk of seats on Congress, control in 2012 states and both congressional seats, and is more competitive on local basis throughout this election cycle, all on a scale which means even if you call yourself for Obama no longer, there is the Republican edge for now because you are so scared of Hillary Clinton you must now trust Trump.
